At a groundbreaking ceremony on Sunday, March 4^th, 2007, Pickens Presbyterian Church joyfully celebrated the beginning of construction for a new building for the Pickens Presbyterian Church Child Development Center, and for renovation of existing church space.  Special guests were members of the CDC Staff and Board.  Speakers for the ceremony were the Rev. Randy Harris, pastor of Pickens Presbyterian Church; Norm Rentz, chair of the Campaign Steering Committee; Karen Durham, Director of the CDC; Carol Ann Moore Harris, Director of Children and Youth Ministries for PPC; Duane Greene, President of Durham-Greene, Inc. (contractor for construction and renovation); and Jeff Holder, chair of the Building Committee.  Construction will begin in March, and the new Center is scheduled to open at the end of the summer.
